About:  

eCatalystOne provides Global Online Payment Services to International Internet subscriber providers such as portals, ISP's, banks and telecommunications companies which allows them to offer branded prepaid Internet accounts (either cash deposit or bank transfer) for shopping or P2P transactions:

- For merchants and customers within the local country or community
- For expatriate customers residing in the U.S.
- For cross boarder shopping, P2P transfers and cross-border auctions

Involvement:

- Inherited the initial database design from 3rd party consultants
- Maintained, modified and designed new database tables, procedures, triggers, etc.
- Created various reporting systems for partners and internal use
- Created and modified UI pages/components
- Built, installed, and configured the development and production systems
- Managed the co-located production servers and re-negotiated contracts
Challenges:

- Integrating system with 3rd party financial systems (ACH, credit cards, Mexican banks, RapidMoney, etc.)
- Calculation of currency exchange rates (real-time and historic)
- Supporting multiple languages in UTF-8
- Developing and maintaining the iProxy
- Monitoring and managing the system for potential fraud
- Migrating production system from large scale (Sun servers and disk array, Compaq servers, Cisco networking) to small scale (low-end Dells) to Medium (Multi-CPU custom built servers, Linux)
